Technical Configuration Change Details

The following items need to be changed to access your email after the October 2011 email server migration:

  1. Change your “Incoming Mail” (IMAP) server from mail.dragonfli.ca to mail.hostedemail.com
  2. Change your “Outgoing Mail” (SMTP) server from mail.dragonfli.ca to mail.hostedemail.com
  3. Under “Advanced Settings” for incoming mail, verify the following settings:
    1. Ensure the “IMAP Path Prefix” is left blank
    2. Ensure “Authentication” type is set to “Password” or “Plain Text”
    3. (optional) Select “Use SSL” connection for additional security
  4. Under “Advanced Settings” for outgoing mail, verify the following settings:
    1. Set the “Outgoing Server (SMTP) Port” to 465
    2. Ensure “Authentication” type is set to “Password” or “Plain Text”
    3. (optional) Select “Use SSL” connection for additional security

For additional convenience, ensure that your mail program’s “Special Folders” or “System Folders” are set to use the following named folders on the server:

  • “Sent Items” is the name of the folder that your sent messages are stored in
  • “Drafts” is the name of the folder that your saved draft messages are stored in
  • “Spam” is the name of the folder that junk mail messages are stored in
  • “Trash” is the name of the folder that deleted messages are stored in
